Should I exercise?

Generally it is unwise to restrict you from participating in sports. Most individuals diagnosed with asthma are able to find a sport that can be tolerated when their asthma is optimally treated.

However symptoms of coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, or chest tightness may be a sign of bronchospasm resulting from the act of exercising even if you have no history of asthma. This syndrome is often referred to as exercise-induced bronchospasm or in those with a known history of asthma exercise-induced asthma.
